Steve McDonald, President & CEO Email
Mr. McDonald founded M2 Transport in 2001. Under Mr. McDonald’s guidance the Company has expanded from an aircraft charter management company into a full service international multi-modal logistics provider. Prior to founding M2, Mr. McDonald co-founded and was a major shareholder in Gemini Air Cargo. Gemini became the second largest ACMI cargo airline in the world. Mr. McDonald served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and developed Gemini’s long term ACMI business plan and was instrumental in the company obtaining its DOT and FAA operating certificates. Mr. McDonald was a senior member of Gemini’s management team and developed the company’s sales plan and customer base and increased revenues from the company’s inception to approximately $180 million in FY 2000. Mr. McDonald was instrumental in the company’s raising over $100 million in equity capital to start the company in 1995 and the company’s re-capitalization in 1999 with The Carlyle Group. Mr. McDonald received his Bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University and his MBA from Marymount University.
Scott Beal, Chief Operating Officer COO Email
Mr. Beal joined M2 Transport on a full-time basis in June of 2005 after conducting various consulting projects on behalf of the company. In his current role, Scott is responsible for developing the sales and marketing strategy for the company and overseeing all operational aspects of the business.
In April of 2004 Mr. Beal left his position as Division Manager, Marketing and Operations, UPS Air Cargo to establish The Beal Group, LLC, an independent transportation and logistics consulting firm. Before that Mr. Beal’s tenure with UPS began in 1985 where he held management positions in sales, operations, industrial engineering, marketing, call centers, IT integration, and acquisitions integration. From 2003 to 2004 he served as Division Manager, Marketing and Operations, UPS Air Cargo, where he managed 150 employees. Scott oversaw the business planning process for $500 million in revenue, managed approximately $20 million in Contract Vendor Relationships, and directed the Call Center which processed 2000 calls daily. Mr. Beal received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Gardner Webb University in 1984 and his M.A. in Marketing from Webster University in 1994.
David Jones, VP Operations Email
David started in the freight transportation industry in 1984 with CF Air Freight in Atlanta, GA. He was promoted to operations manager in 1987 in Huntsville, AL when CF purchased Emery Worldwide. In 1995 David became the terminal manager and in 1997 transferred with Emery to Jacksonville FL to run a joint venture between Emery Worldwide and the USPS priority mail program. In 2001, he transferred to St Louis, MO to start a freight forwarding division for Con-Way AIR, prior to coming back to Atlanta to lead the Conway solutions center. In 2006 David joined M2 Transport and has been an integral part of offering excellent service to our domestic customers.
Ted Mueller, Charter/Special Projects Manager Email
Ted Mueller brings more than a decade of successful international transportation & logistics sales and operations experience to M2 Transport. Joining M2 Transport in 2003, Mr. Mueller strategically served as part of the Air Charter Sales division of Eagle Global Logistics on behalf of M2. For the next four years Ted assisted EGL staff in establishing their global network for AOG products and executed charter agreements all across the globe. During Teds’ time working inside Eagle, he learned the value of being neutral when handling another forwarders customer. This is an attribute that Ted carries forward, as well as all of M2, as we interact with our freight forwarding customers on a daily basis. Ted has held positions of Operations Manager and Air Charter/Special Projects Manager during his tenure at M2 Transport. In that role, Mr. Mueller has taken on and assisted with procurement of freighter space for large freight (less-than-planeload) shipments, charters, hand carries, and airline operational support for equine transport Mr. Mueller is a member of the Houston Air Cargo Association and also holds a commercial rated pilots license with instrument rating, with more than 2,000 hours total time. Additionally Ted holds a BS Degree in Business Aviation from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Sean Nix, Equine Division Manager Email
Sean, a lifelong racing enthusiast who became hooked on the sport through regular trips to Churchill Downs, joined M2 Transport in 2012 following three years with the US Jockey Club.
During that time he acted as sales representative for Equineline products, including horse farm management software.
Sean is also a graduate of the University of Louisville Equine Program. During his degree program Sean contributed to the Winners Federation Directory of Counseling and Addiction Services, for equine industry workers, by providing key research prior to its publication.
